Pursuant to the state open records law RCW secs. 42.56.001 to 42.56.902, I write on behalf of The News Tribune to request a copy of the Port of Tacoma’s employee pay data. Specifically, we seek a database or databases that include employees’ first and last names, position/title, department, rate of pay (hourly or annualized), FTE status, base pay and total pay, including overtime and extra pay, for 2014. We do not seek fields containing Social Security numbers, home addresses, birth dates, withholding information or phone numbers.
We would like the information in electronic form, preferably Excel or delimiter-separated value text format. We’d encourage you to email them to the address below.
As provided by the open records law, we request your response within five business days.
If you choose to deny this request, please provide a written explanation for the denial including a reference to the specific statutory exemption(s) upon which you rely. Also, please provide all segregable portions of otherwise exempt material.
If your office does not maintain these public records, please let me know who does and include the proper custodian’s name and address.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need further information. Thank you for your help.
